Job Description
Company Overview
Red 6 is an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) technology startup leading the way in synthetic air combat training. Our primary technology, supporting our ATARS product, enables pilots to simulate the cognitive challenges of flying while accessing realistic, scalable training in dynamic outdoor environments.
The Role
Red 6 is seeking a highly organized and execution-driven Planner/Scheduler (Manufacturing Readiness Lead) to support production operations and supply chain activities for complex aerospace products. This role combines detailed scheduling with focused project coordination, ensuring that all elements required for production — material availability, documentation, engineering changes, and test readiness — are aligned, tracked, and executed on time. The position drives Manufacturing Readiness across multiple products by coordinating cross-functional deliverables and maintaining integrated schedules. It also supports product lifecycle and sustainment efforts, including ECO/ECN implementation planning and DMSMS (obsolescence) tracking.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Manufacturing Readiness processes for multiple products; plan and run readiness meetings tracking inputs from Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Test teams.
- Maintain readiness checklists, deliverables, and exit criteria; identify and close gaps (material shortages, documentation gaps, ECO status, tooling/test readiness).
- Develop and maintain integrated schedules including supply chain, material delivery, manufacturing activities, ECO implementation, and production milestones.
- Track part-level schedules and material availability, including long-lead and custom components; communicate material risks.
- Support ECO/ECN execution and configuration change coordination; coordinate qualification builds and First Article Inspection (FAI) for second-source components.
- Track DMSMS / obsolescence: EOL components, last-time-buy opportunities, alternate sourcing/redesigns/lifetime buys.
- Coordinate cross-functional projects; lead recurring readiness reviews; provide structured updates to leadership.
- Use Microsoft Project to build schedules; develop dashboards/reporting for schedule performance, material readiness, and lifecycle risks.
Required Qualifications
- 3-7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or project coordination in a manufacturing or hardware environment.
- Experience tracking material readiness, supply chain schedules, or production planning.
- Familiarity with ECO/ECN processes and configuration control.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project (or similar).
- Ability to obtain a security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DOD or aerospace production programs; AS9100 quality environments.
- DMSMS / obsolescence management; custom component supply chains; ERP/MRP systems.
- Background in electromechanical aerospace systems or avionics hardware; contract manufacturing environments.
Pay Range: $75,000-$100,000
